As we mark the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, we gather again in Kobe, providing a significant opportunity to reflect on past disaster response efforts and carry these learnings forward into the future. The World Society of Disaster Nursing 2024 (WSDN24) offers a space to enhance the health of our communities and planet, expanding the power of mutual support in disaster response.

Achieving sustainable health and resilience for our societies requires the participation and collaboration of each of us.

Kobe treasures the memory of the earthquake, using the lessons learned to foster a safer and more resilient city. Through our walking tour program, we invite you to experience Kobe's many charms and connect with the facilities and people in the community who are at the forefront of global disaster preparedness and mutual support culture. With the local spirit of warm hospitality, we hope you will experience moments that nurture "resilience" and "well-being."

We also hope this brochure will serve as a resource for Kobe residents. The proper support during a disaster lies in day-to-day learning and building dependable relationships.

As you walk through the city, we encourage you to connect with the people and places integral to fostering disaster preparedness and a healthy way of life. Let us join hands in Kobe to create a resilient and thriving future together.
